Tips For Your Holiday to Cairo

The weather outside is hot and the temperature inside most establishments including hotels is cool, almost cold. The culture is rich and the customs are interesting to observe. The one thing you need to do for your holiday to Cairo is follow the customs and traditions. The customs vary from place to place, but if you are a woman, you need to dress according to the customs. It is not that must of a big difference for most, but they do hold women highly in Cairo. They do not like so much skin showing, especially in the churches.

Transportation is available, which will be more appropriate for visitors since the locals do have their own way of driving. There are buses and taxi services to use. If you are heading to the outskirts of Cairo, a rental car might work, but you could hire a local car service to take you sightseeing. Before heading out to see the attractions, take along some bottled water. The water in Cairo should be avoided. This is so common in many destinations. Bottled water is sold in the markets and at the hotels. Once you have the water, you are ready to see some sites.

In one day, you could plan to visit the Pyramids of Giza, Dashur, Memphis and Saqqara. Then you could move on to the museum for half a day. Then you could visit Mohamed Ali Mosque and Citadel. The Old Cairo area is important to see because of the history and beauty. If you have some time left over on the first day, you could visit Khan Khalili Bazaar. The shopping and monuments are nice to see and explore. It does stay open late, so it is a nice nighttime activity. Visiting all these attractions in one day is easy and not rushed.

If you would like to walk around and see some attractions, Islamic Cairo is where you should go. This street goes from Tentmakers Street to Al-Azhar Street. You will see traders of every type, monuments and every day life of the locals. There are some footbridges that will take you closer to some of the attractions. Ask the hotel for a map of the Islamic Cairo before leaving. This map will have the bridges marked. You will see the Mosque of Al-Muayyad in this area. Enter the right side door to see the inside.

The tent market is where you will find some incredible tapestries and materials for making other things. The crafters are skilled artisans that sell in the tent market every day. Cheap holidays to Cairo are enjoyable and if you find something you like, importing and exporting should be done with the help of the hotel you stay at. It goes faster and smoother when you have a local help you. All you need to worry about is what to do and when to do it. You can plan a day for relaxing by the pool or visit some of the local restaurants or pubs for a relaxing day.
