East Coast's Largest Counter-Strike 1.6 Tournament Features Over $22,000 in Cash and Prizes

Branchburg, NJ (PRWEB) August 3, 2007 -- Thirty-two teams will be making their way down to Rockville, MD to compete for over $22,000 in cash and prizes in the 2007 Dust-Off® Championship. Hosted by X3O Emerging Technologies, the DC Metro Area's premiere destination for technical services, software training, and network gaming, the 2007 Dust-Off® Championship is the East Coast's largest Half Life: Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament.

The 2007 Dust-Off® Championship will be held August 10th -- 12th and is open to the first 32 teams that pre-register and pre-pay for the tournament. Teams of all skill-levels, both local and international, are welcome to compete.

Day one and two of the tournament will consist of eight groups -- four teams in each group -- competing in a round-robin style. Each team will play each other once within their group and the top teams from each group will advance to the finals on day three, where the final eight teams will compete in a double elimination bracket. In addition to competing for their share of a $10,000 cash purse and over $12,500 in product prizes, winning teams will also earn points for their final placing in the 2007 Dust-Off® Championship which will be used for seeding in other events held at the X3O Gaming Center.

Over 150 spectators are expected at the X30 Gaming Center in Rockville, MD to witness the action first-hand, and up to 5,000 are estimated to follow the matches via live video streams on www.x3o-gaming.com, which will broadcast the event, live scores, news and photos.
